Introducing…

  • Age: 25-30

    Oliver is a charming and refined gentleman, with a respectable career at a bank. A blend of youthful innocence and gentlemanly sophistication, his interactions with others showcase an underlying kindness and idealism, serving as a beacon of hope in the narrative. 

  • Age: 21-25


    As a flower seller at Whitechapel Market, Jane embodies warmth and resilience, finding beauty in her surroundings despite her traumatic past. Her character offers a complex emotional range, transitioning from moments of vulnerability to displays of loving support for Oliver.

  • Age: 28-35

    Now a successful figure, Dodger retains his cheeky Cockney charm, balancing a playful demeanour with some sophistication he's gained over the years. His character is witty and clever, often using humour to navigate tricky situations while maintaining a deep loyalty to his friends and a sense of morality.

  • Age: 30-35

    A larger-than-life market seller, Meg's loud personality is a façade for her hidden sorrow. Her character's journey reflects a mix of strength and vulnerability, emphasising her unwavering hope amidst adversity.

    Thomas is a lighthearted and cheeky chap, representing the optimism and friendliness of the community. His character carries a deep affection for Meg, which adds depth to his joyful spirit. His unwavering loyalty to his friends and family highlights his capacity for genuine connection, revealing a softer side beneath his playful exterior.

    Bet, as the madame of a local brothel, balances her tough exterior with an underlying kindness. Her character struggles with the morally ambiguous environment around her while striving to maintain a sense of dignity and compassion.

    Fagin is a complex character, warm and charming yet deeply affected by life’s hardships and betrayals. He navigates his world with a mix of cunning and vulnerability, showcasing his struggle to find connection amid isolation.unwavering loyalty to his friends and family highlights his capacity for genuine connection, revealing a softer side beneath his playful exterior. 

  • Age: 50+

    Chief Inspector Clements is a bumbling police inspector whose misplaced loyalty leads him to blindly serve Lord Harrington Price. Despite his ineptitude, Clements possesses a genuine belief in the law and a strong desire to uphold justice within the community.

  • Age: 14 - 17


    Emily is a vibrant and spirited young lady, embodying the warmth and resilience of her community. As Thomas's devoted daughter, her cheerful disposition reflects his optimism, while her strong bond with him highlights her loyalty and affection.

    Monks serves as a menacing antagonist and Oliver’s half-brother, embodying psychotic tendencies that stem from a deep well of jealousy and rage. Selfish to the core, he is driven solely by his own desires and ambitions, valuing personal gain above all else. His presence brings a palpable intensity to the narrative.

    Dan is a brutish alcoholic characterised by his overwhelming grief for his deceased sister. His turbulent emotions often lead to violent outbursts, creating a complex character that exhibits raw vulnerability and anger. Dan’s presence adds a darker element to the narrative, highlighting the societal issues surrounding addiction and loss.

    Lord Harrington Price is an evil man who abuses his power to manipulate others to his will. A distinguished yet deeply corrupt gentleman, he employs deceit and coercion to achieve his selfish ambitions. As the embodiment of tyranny and moral corruption, Lord Harrington Price serves as a stark contrast to the other characters, highlighting the themes of oppression and the fight for justice.

  • Age: 21-50

    The ensemble plays a crucial role in establishing the vibrant, bustling atmosphere of the narrative and the communities within it. Members will embody various characters such as market traders, townsfolk, prostitutes and criminals, reflecting the diversity and spirit of the setting.

  • Age: 14 - 17

    The pickpockets infuse the narrative with unique energy and dynamic flair, embodying the cunning and street-smart spirit of the world. Their collaborative antics drive the storyline forward, adding excitement and tension to the production.
